Dawn of Yangchen by F.C Yee

If you like books with lots of espionage and adventure, this series will be perfect for you! I really love all the Chronicles of the Avatar books! It will be interesting when the Roku ones will be written by a different author. However, I'm still excited to read those, too!

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: #1 in Yangchen Duology, #3 in Chronicles of the Avatar

Genre: Fantasy Fiction, YA Fiction

Tropes: Espionage, Plauged by the Past, MacGuffin, An Offer you can't refuse, Past-life memories, High Stakes

Things I liked: Yangchen is such a strong avatar, but we still get to see her human side as well. It's nice that she isn't written as a legend but written as a person that we can relate with since we all struggle at times.

Things I disliked: It was so annoying how everyone was trying to use Yangchen for their own gain. It was also sad how everyone was spying on her. She couldn't even relax anywhere. Also, even when they asked for her help, they wouldn't listen to her, which was extremely frustrating.

Audiobook or Physical? The audiobook was really good! I loved Nancy Wu's voice for both Kavik and Yangchen!

Extras: POV switches between Kavik and Yangchen.
