Was a really good thriller, with some insight into the reporter job, which I had never thought about the day to day before for them. The main character is a very strong female who has to deal with her career, love life, and duty to her community.
My Rating: 4 out of 5
Part of a series or Standalone: #1 in Jordan Manning series
Genre: Mystery, Thriller
Tropes: In too deep, Detective, Reporter, Community, The Trophy, Missing Child
Things I liked: Jordan is a really strong female character. She's career driven and doesn't apologize for it.
She was very stubborn about her investigation, which we see is a fine line between being helpful and putting yourself in danger, I liked the reality of her situation.
Things I disliked: Personally, the novel was pretty realistic and dark, at times it just felt too real, so it was less of an escape from the world and more of a reflection of all the worst in the world.
Audiobook or Physical? Audiobook was good. Susan Dalian was a really good narrator.
Extras: Jordan's POV
