Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King

When you first start the book, you think, why is there an old woman lectring me and everyone else in the room. However, as you read on, you gain a deep respect and even love for her.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: Standalone

Genre: Mystery, Thriller

Tropes: Unreliable Narrator, Small Town Justice, Well Know Secret, Respect, Eclipse

Things I liked: I love Dolores! She's reminds me so much of many of the strong, awesome women I've worked with over the years.

Things I disliked: Since I felt so close to Dolores I don't like that she really is the only voice we hear from, so there's no way to actually corroborate her story and know for sure she's innocent of Vera's death.

I really am disappointed that Dolores donates all the money. She should have at least given all the money to her children if she didn't want it.

Audiobook or Physical? I listened to the audiobook, there's some sound effects, like it was an audio drama suddenly which just made me laugh so hard.

Extras: Monologue given by Dolores.

There's a movie which is supposed to be very good with Kathy Bates in it!
