A Town With Half the Lights On by Page Getz

Anyone who has played Stardew Valley will really enjoy this book. It gives off that small-town vibe while adding some charm in there with a story about a family learning to be part of a community.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: Standalone

Genre: Contemporary Fiction

Tropes: Small Town, Fish Out of Water, Coming Of Age, People vs. Corps

Things I liked: The whole book is told in an epistolary style, which really lets us see all of Goodnight. The book consists of emails sent to various family members and friends, giving the whole book a sense of familiarity. There's also sections of the town paper, which add some extra charm to the book.

We get some diary entrees, as well as letters in bottles sent down the river. I'm in love with all the different ways we got to experience the town!

Things I disliked: This book will not be enough for me, I need more books in this town.

Audiobook or Physical? I got my hands on the physical book! Seeing the headings for the newspaper and emails is really cute. Making the reading experience easier since I know what's going on. I feel a lot might be lost with an audiobook since everything will just be read out, which might be confusing.

Extras: Debute Novel
