Gerald's Game by Stephen King

A different kind of thriller from King. It's interesting what a talented writer can do with just the mind of a character.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: Standalone

Genre: Horror, Thriller

Tropes: Trapped and Alone, No One To Hear You Scream, Trapped with Your Thoughts

Things I liked: A lot of the imagery was very strong! It was almost too much, I could picture some of these things so clearly that I had to put the book down a few times.

It was amazing how he could give us such a compelling story when so little actually happens in the novel.

Things I disliked: King really likes to make us to the edge. A lot of the subjects in the book could be very triggering for people. It makes it really hard to share the book with others.

Audiobook or Physical? I listened to the audiobook, which was really good. Lindsay Crouse is an excellent narrator.

If any animals are abused, die, or are killed in this book: Prince, the dog does die. He is shot by cops

Extras: Jessie's POV, Go watch the movie!
