Misery by Stephen King

It's such a truly terrible tale! If you wanted something almost like a dark fairytale, this would be it! There's so many discussions to be had over this book that it's a good book club pick as well. For me, this is one of my top King books.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: Standalone

Genre: Thriller, Horror

Tropes: Snowed In, Nurse Ratchet, Looney Fan, Bottle Episode, Unlikable Victim

Things I liked: It's such a perfect representation of addiction.

I really liked the sections that were the Misery books as well, I would love if we got those novels as well from King. Part of me wonders if he wrote those sections and didn't have enough for a book but had enough to be part of another story.

Things I disliked: I wish we had more background on Annie. There's just so much more there to unpack.

Audiobook or Physical? I read the physical book, and I would recommend reading it this way since there's a good amount of word art. If you can, try to get a hold of older versions of this book.

Extras: Paul's POV, Go check out the movie it's a classic!
