White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton

This is a really fun read for anyone looking for some magical realism! I'm really curious how the rest of the series will pan out.

My Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: #1 in Adam Binder series

Genres: Fantasy

Tropes: Magical Realism, Reconnecting with Family, Gods Walk Amoung Us, The Chosen One, Coming of Age, Magical Creatures, Paying the Price

Things I liked: Adam has to deal with a lot of family trauma, and I feel like the way it's discussed in the book is very mature and sweet.

There's LGBTQ+ representation in this book, which I always love seeing, especially in a fantasy setting.

Things I disliked: I wish the magic system and universe had been explained in more detail.

Audiobook or Physical? I listened to the audiobook! I really liked the performance Michael David Axtell gave. He also gave his voice to Ninth House and Hell Bent. The whole time i was listening, I knew I had heard his voice before!

Extras: Switches between Adam and Robert's POV's
