Overall a really good read especially if you like more slice of life type stories. With just a touch of fantasy to help make the story just that much more exciting.
My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Part of a Series or Standalone: Standalone
Genres: Fantasy Fiction
Tropes: Famous Spouse, Widow, Double-Meaning Title, Eldritch Abomination, Improvised Weapon, It Runs in the Family
Things I liked: Lisey’s relations with everyone in her life were so interesting to read about. She felt like such a real person it was super easy to get sucked into the drama of her life.
Things I disliked: I really didn’t like the scenes that involved the Boo'ya Moon, it was just boring to me. Personally I think Lisey had enough going on in her personal life without that for the book to be interesting.
Audiobook or Physical? I listened to the audiobook, and I really liked Mare Winningham’s performance.
If animals are abused, die or are killed in this book: A cat is stuck in a mailbox to send a message to Lisey. We don’t experience the cat getting mutilated at least.
Extras: There's a tv drama series that King himself wrote the script for so that should be a really good show to check out.
King has stated that this is one of his favorite stories that he had ever written. Its a very important tale to him.
