The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

Not for the faint of heart but a journey that was worth taking with these characters. Its a page turner for sure always leaving us on cliffhangers each chapter. At least that's how it felt to me. Fellow lovers of historical fiction will really enjoy this read.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Part of a Series or Standalone: Standalone

Genres: Historical Fiction

Tropes: Espionage, Resistance, World War 2, Showing The Research, Dual Timeline

Things I liked: This book was very emotionally taxing so I had to take a few breaks. Please be careful reading this its very intense.

Everyone is so brave in this book, its awe-inspiring. All the characters show a very honest depiction of the human spirit and resilience.

The Dual timeline in this book was perfect. It added so much suspense.

Things I disliked: Isabelle is really annoying at the beginning.

Her father Julien is also annoying. Its just so frustrating and sad they can't communicate well.

Audiobook or Physical? I listened to the audiobook which was an excellent choice. It made everything more emotional. Polly Stone gives a good performance.

Extras: Switches between Isabelle and Vianne's POV's
