Violeta by Isabel Allende

I'm a sucker for someones life story, especially if that someone is fictional. I also love how all these lives interconnect it wasn't just about Violeta it was also about all the people in her life who were there for her and even some who weren't there for her. A large tapestry of lives came together to make a book that I could not put down.

My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: Standalone

Genre: Historical Fiction

Tropes: Letter to a Loved one, Slice of Life, History Repeats itself

Things I liked: Violeta is such a strong female character. She really doesn't hold back anything in her story, and in a way, it really gives her a lot of power.

Things I disliked: I would really like more books from her family. Maybe her son or her grandson could write down their life experiences, and it would be interesting to see how Violeta looked through their eyes. So my complaint it that this isn't a series and it should be.

Audiobook or Physical? I listened to the audiobook, which I liked a lot! Yareli Arizmendi does an excellent job as Violeta!

If any animals are abused, die, or are killed in this book: Two loyal dogs die of old age since the book spands over 100 years.
