Cat's People by Tanya Guerrero

It's such an uplifting story about people coming together, learning how to navigate life. We all want to be strong, but the way to be our strongest is to work together, which this book illustrates perfectly. It also shows that the wisest person sometimes isn't a person at all.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Part of a series or Standalone: Standalone

Genres: Contemporary Fiction

Tropes: No Man is an Island, Set In Modern Day, Coming of Age, Conflicts Comes from Interpersonal Relationships, Unexpected Love Intrest, Friends Come in All Shapes and Sizes

Things I liked: The chapters are very short, and there are about 60ish chapters total in the book, so it's very satisfying as you read since this makes it very easy to read.

I love stories where a point of view is from an animal! It really adds such a cute and charming touch to stories.

You can tell that the author has worked with cats and cares a great deal for them. It really shows in her writing.

Everyone in the book has such a kind soul, I liked learning about each new character. There's something in here for anyone at any point in their life!

This book also did an excellent job of showing off many cultures.

Things I disliked: I would love if we had gotten a bit more from characters like Lily and Bong.

Audiobook or Physical? My Aunt sent me the physical copy of this book! I do really want to listen to the audiobook when I revisit this read.

If any animals are abused, die, or are killed in this book: Since Cat is one of the main characters saying anything specific, here would be a spoiler.

Extras: Multiple POV's, Debute Adult Fiction Novel
